Project Moenchel Stones
I had heard about a nice hike in the Northern Black Forest region of Southern Germany where you pass by a couple of sandstone pillars sticking out of the ground. The place is located near the village Dennjaecht, which was a settlement of rafters in the 17th and 18th centuries. These brought the silver pines growing in the Black Forest into Holland for shipbuilding. The sandstone pillars originated from the time when this region was a sea. This has awakened my interest. So I set out to find this place and capture it photographically. That afternoon, the sun shines into a fine fog. This conjured up a very special mood in the pictures. Here are some shots.
